Quality assurance
Legal review and content quality
We use explicit labels so readers can distinguish editorial quality checks from independent review by a licensed attorney.
Our review labels
- Editorially reviewed: checked for clarity, structure, sourcing, consistency, and appropriate limitations.
- Attorney reviewed: independently reviewed by a named licensed attorney whose qualification, jurisdiction, profile, and review date appear on the page.
- Last updated: the date of the most recent substantive content change.
- Last reviewed: the date the displayed reviewer completed the stated review process.
Current attorney-review status
Unless a page names an individual licensed attorney and identifies that reviewer’s jurisdiction and review date, the page has not been independently attorney-reviewed.
LegalGPT does not use unnamed, fictional, or AI-generated lawyer profiles. Attorney attribution is added only after identity and credentials are verified and the review actually occurs.
What reviewers check
- Jurisdiction, source quality, factual and legal limitations, and customization assumptions.
- Whether examples and templates avoid guarantees about validity, enforceability, outcomes, or professional suitability.
- Whether publication, modification, and review dates accurately describe the work performed.
Update triggers
- A cited authority or official guidance materially changes.
- A supported factual or legal error is identified.
- A product workflow changes or a scheduled review finds outdated material.
